One-Design Showcase
Over 100 years of racing, the Star is a great boat and Class with famous sailors, tradition and style. Pleasant to sail in light air due to the enormous sail area and low water surface, it is extremely sensible in medium winds requiring adjustments to the spar (rigging, wires and sails), and for heavy winds, it gets very athletic.
Designed in 1910 by Francis Sweisguth, the Star was the Olympic class keelboat from 1932 to 2012. The Star Class has learned how to be strong and prestigious without Olympic status. The Star Class is where great sailors go to test themselves against the legends of sailing.
